Brief & background

We all know that word of mouth is still by far one of the most powerful ways of generating leads and enquires. Especially in a category where experience is everything - a neighbour swearing how good his or her broadband connection is will get someone excited about at least checking it out.

Our brief was to develop a referral program targeting our existing loyal customers to refer neighbours to become part of the Hathway family.

Objectives

Tap into our loyal base of customers and get them to refer their neighbours
Drive enquire and new subscriptions

Strategy

All referral programmes are based on the principle that for each referred potential that converts the referee gets something in exchange. The insight for the GIFT was that most people love watching the latest Bollywood blockbuster. So, as a reward, the existing customer would get 2 premium tickets Free for every converted customer

Results

The campaign performed well and delivered over 500 new potential customers and generated positive word of mouth
